In this talk, we introduce the geometry and dynamics of contact topology. We explain the dynamical characteristics of contact Hamiltonian dynamics and explain its quantitative aspects in relation to thermondynamics and information theory. We then explain the analytical machinery of contact instantons which enables us to study the quantitative aspect of contact dynamics and topology in an optimal way.
